Tuesday, Travis Barker and 03 Greedo announce a joint EP and share their first single. Meet The Drummers, dropping June 28  is the artists’ first collaboration together. With Barker’s bright and upbeat production providing a canvas for Greedo’s warbly, melodic verses, the first single “Cellout” is a worthy introduction and a testament to the duo’s palpable compatibility and expansive range as the track warps through a variety of styles. The single is an iTunes instant gratification single and is available ahead of the EP’s release this Friday.

“A lot of people are gonna wonder if the EP is on some rock n roll or if it’s taking me out my element,” say 03 Greedo, ” but it’s kinda like Travis stepped into my world for this one. It’s gonna shock a lot of people when they hear it. It’s just about putting more great music out into the world. This is just a preview of the music Travis and I are about to start working on coming soon. I want him to do more production on my next solo album, and I’m sure we’ll do a full project together later on too.”

The EP is further evidence of both artists’ prowess as collaborators. Barker, one of music’s most prolific names, continues to explore genres and mediums ranging from punk rock to hip hop and pop. He most recently produced “F9mily” off Lil Nas X’s debut EP, 7, and previously worked with the likes of RZA, Ty Dolla $ign, Run The Jewels, Kid Cudi, Trippie Redd, Halsey, and more.

03 Greedo has also kept busy as one of LA’s most exciting new voices. The rapper most recently released a collaborative project with DJ Mustard, Still Summer in the Projects, earlier this year and teamed up with Noisey for the documentary Project Genius:The Story of 03 Greedo which chronicled his rapid rise and the impact he has had on his hometown, the city of Watts.

“I be strictly about business when I’m recording. I take that real serious. Recording with Travis was work just like any other time, with me going in on every song. Once we were done with the project and had a friendly relationship was when I really got to appreciate the moment [of working with someone I grew up a fan of. It trips me out still when I talk to him while I’m locked up. He checks in on how I’m doing. It blew my mind when I put him on my visiting list to come see me.”03 Greedo
